The mission of the John Hanson Counsel on Limb Ischemia Management is to improve the quality of care, reduce amputation rates and prolong life of patients with limb ischemia.
The John Hanson Counsel on Limb Ischemia Management will achieve its mission by developing a consortium of experts in the diagnosis and treatment in limb ischemia patients including endovascular specialists (interventional cardiologists and radiologists and vascular surgeons), diagnostic radiologists, podiatrists, wound clinic specialists, hyperbaric oxygen therapy experts, orthopedic surgeons, infectious disease specialists, plastic surgeons, orthotic/prosthetic services, occupational and physical therapists, primary care physician interested in wound and peripheral vascular disease management, diabetic educators and allied health professionals specializing in wound management.
Goals of the JHCLI

Hold meetings where interesting cases are presented and management is discussed

Publish all these cases online at mcrfmd.com with discussion and recommendations from the panel

Interact with industry partners to learn more about their FDA approved products and its applications for limb ischemia and wound management

Educate the public on limb ischemia and wound management as part of a public education forum organized by the Midwest Cardiovascular Research Foundation

Invite out of town recognized speakers and experts on limb ischemia and wound management

Establish relationships with various groups of similar interests and share experiences

Participate in research on limb ischemia and wound management that will be facilitated by the Midwest Cardiovascular Research Foundation
